In the mouth, one discovers the extent of its marvellous aromatic potential : fruity notes of peach, honey and apricot combine with floral and mineral notes, typical of the terroir of Pouilly-Fuissé.

Grape variety: Chardonnay

Tasting notes by Corney & Barrow
Puligny-Montrachet 2003
Fractionally paler colour of green gold. White fruits on the nose with a hint of walnut, but subtle and mineral too. The palate is creamy and ripe, full flavoured, almost liquorous, but with rich intensity and fine length. Drink in 2005.

Puligny-Montrachet 2003
Revealing fresh white fruits and herbs in the nose, the 2003 Puligny-Montrachet (white, 88-90) is another sensual, sexy wine. Poached pears, spices, notes of butter, and a powerful underlying minerality are found in its medium-bodied character. In addition, its long, expressive finish displays notce of toasted nuts-infused with lemon drops. Projected maturity : now-2011.

Fresh and peachy. Ripe and rich but really quite classic in flavours. This is a lovely example. From 2006.

El Coto de Rioja

El Coto Crianza
Spain
Rioja

Varieties : Tempranillo 100% from Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa.

Vinification : Fermented in stainless steel vats for 20-25 days, with frequent remontages and extended maceration in order to achieve the right equilibrium among the fruity and the tannic sides of the extract.

Ageing : Aged for 14 months in American white oak (Quercus Alba) from the Northern Appalachian mountains in U.S.A.. These barriques have a 225 litres capacity, are medium toasted and previously dried for two years. Then the wine has been aged in bottle in our facilities for, at least, 6months before reaching the market.

Tasting Notes : Red ruby colour, harmonic, well balanced, with vanilla and oak hints. Soft and long in the mouth, shows a fantastic fruit concentration combining the subtle strawberry aromas so typical of the Rioja Tempranillo with the notorious vanilla bouquet of the American oak.

Serving Suggestions : Serving temperature: 16ºC-18ºC (61ºF-65ºF). Perfect with white meat, pasta, fish (depending on type and sauce), veal, chorizo and light cheeses.
