Cotes de Provence Domaine La Courtade Red

La Courtade Red
France
Cotes de Provence

Perfectly summed up by Olivier Poussier (World Best Sommelier 2000): “A wine giving immediate pleasure”

A wine to lay down
Origins :
Mouvèdre grapes,
5600 plants per hectare.
A tall vine, pruned short, producing small quantities
(30-35 hectolitres per hectare). 100% scratching
and 21 days of maceration
enhance the subtlety of the wine which continues to be refined during its storage in barrels.

Between 2 and 5 years :
a deep robe and a peppery,
spicy nose.

After 6 years :
strong virility, flavours evolving from bergamot orange, Russian leather and then to truffles.
