Barbaresco "Casot" & "Marcarini"

Nada Wine Company
Italy
Barbaresco

Characteristics : A burgundy red colour with ruby tones that become orange as time goes by. The bouquet is harmonious and complete with a hint of rose (the symbol of the company) and violet. The taste is complete, plain, robust, long lasting and extraordinarily aristocratic. The wine making of the grapes coming from the “Casot” cru, means a long and slow maceration of the skins, immersed in the must for a period that, with the best vintages, can reach up to three months. This process is carried out so that the vigour and body of the wine explode into the universe of perfumes and spices following the ageing and refining periods in the bottles. For the wine making of the “Marcarini” we prefer shorter periods of time in order to obtain a wine that is ready to be consumed and rapidly expresses its own characteristics. Its particular structure makes it delicate and suitable for all tastes.
Advice: Seeing as it is so strong and complete, the Barbaresco “Casot” is able to keep (and improve) its extraordinary characteristics for 10-12 years and 15-20 for the best vintages. It is advisable to pour the Barbaresco “Casot” into an appropriate decanter at least 1-2 hours before drinking. The Barbaresco “Marcarini” is best consumed within 8-10 years in order to enjoy its freshness and harmony.
